What do i think are characteristics of an effective action are? What makes another social action more important than the other?

I think that some characteristics of an effective actions are that the topic has to be interesting, the action has to impact a lot of individuals, inspirational- you should gain some followers who agree with your cause. first of all the action topic has to be interesting or not many people would care about what you are doing. a good example of a interesting topic that concerns a lot of people around the world are medical issues such as cancers, smoking, and diseases. Second your actions have to impact a lot of people to get attention and be effective. a good example of an effective action would be when Bill Gated decided to donate millions of dollars to charity, you don't have to donate money for your specific topic you could go to different places and talk about it to inspire people. if your actions are truly successful you will gain some followers who will assist you in your vision. some reasons for why some social actions are more important than the other is that maybe the social action isn't happening in your community thus making people less interested than one that is happening close to you. another reason one social action would be more important than the other is if the other social action isn't as important, and example of this is if your topic is stop video game violence and anothers is stop smoking at LASS than people would lean towards the stop smoking one because video games don't cause as much deaths as smoking does.

What changes do you need to make to make your plan bigger and better?

I believe that my vision of helping the students of Louise Arbour to quit smoking would be bigger and better if more people saw what was happening. for example i was walking home and i noticed at trail of finished cigarettes and cigarette packs near the park. I think this is very dangerous because a lot of children go near that park and it could influence them to start smoking. another thing is that nobody ever cleans it i notice that there are people who clean the park but they never throw away the cigarettes. Im also going to take action by writing a action letter to the mayor of Brampton to advise her about the park rangers only cleaning up litter and big messes instead of cleaning up the cigarettes on the playground which last up to 10 years because they arent biodegradable. My plan has already been going well because i recieved alot of like on my facebook page and i can only see more progress in the future.

Why is your topic important?

 My topic which is smoking at Louise Arbour Secondary School is important because it shows the negative affects of smoking an what it does to your body over time. many people smoke due to a form of relaxation, to fit into the crowd, or to look "cool", or they cant get out of the habit of it because of the nicotine in the cigarette which is really addictive. The plain truth is that smoking is not cool and it can cause many problems especially to young teens who have a whole life ahead of them. Some negative affects of smoking are lung cancer, heart disease, stroke, regular smokers develop yellow teeth The worst part of having lung cancer due to smoking is the residue called tar which is left after smoking 70% of this gunk is left in your lungs after smoking one cigarette. These tobacco companies are not the main source of the problem because teens will always find ways to get anything they are not allow to get. Teens need to learn the risks and side affects of smoking themselves because it affects them for the rest of their life. smoking kills about 45,000 Canadians annually.

How is the SAP different than other assignments in High School?

this assignment is more different than other assignment that I get because it allows me to be more socially active where as other normal assignments in school are research and a bunch of witting this assignment gives you the benefit of socializing with the real world and it shows how thing work

What makes you apprehensive about the SAP?

there are a bunch of people that smoke at Louise Arbour secondary school and the thing that makes me apprehensive is if I make a big impact on smoking in Louise Arbour they might be angry and do something bad to me.
